This is it, kids, summer’s final stretch is upon us! (Although Mother Nature and her penchant for heat waves may have other plans🫣). However, in the meantime we plan to make the most of every outdoor moment and we’re keeping the following by our sides: a time-saving cleanser, a dreamy hand cream, a bump-reducing oil and solid new additions to our sunscreen roster. Read on to learn more about the beauty buys that we feel are worth it this month, and wishing you all an unforgettable end-of-season run of hot days and cool treats!
This budget SPF punches well above
its weight. A nourishing yet lightweight lotion made with one of skincare’s buzziest ingredients (bring on the niacinamide!), it helps to brighten discolouration and refine the look of pores while delivering a hefty SPF 50 of broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection. Made with a pale rose tint that claims to be universal on all skin tones, and a dash of shimmering mica, it melts into my medium-toned melanin and leaves my complexion more radiant than before.
I’m a solid believer in double cleansing
and this innovative wash gives you a twofer, cutting your sink time in half. The bi-phase formula whisks away dirt, oil, sunscreen and makeup but won’t leave your skin feeling greasy after rinsing. It contains PHA for a gentle exfoliation and oat-derived surfactants to clean the skin without leaving it dry. One wash left my skin feeling silky smooth and clean af.
A hype man for swimwear
I’ve been using this lightweight oil to keep bumps along the bikini line or underarms at bay. Formulated for those delicate hair removal zones, the Made in Canada blend of jojoba seed, tea tree, copaiba balsam and grapeseed oils is gyno and derm approved to moisturize, reduce redness and soothe skin. I also appreciate that my new must-have for boosting body confidence has a very light scent profile. Think: extremely fresh > overly cloying.
In A
sea of lip liners,
this best-seller stands out as a real winner. The creamy formula glides on but still stays put and it really does go with everything, from my go-to balms to any nude or neutral lipsticks. Lately, I’m always throwing it in my bag because I feel like I need it on hand for any lip-mergencies. The best part?! You can use it on your lips, cheeks AND eyes, so it really is a multitasking must-have.
Want to romanti
cize your life?
Start by spoiling yourself with this insanely cute hand cream. Not only does the slim, minty green, hexagon-shaped bottle fit snugly in my palm and easily in my crossbody bag, the contents are a hydrating mix of glycerin, squalane, shea and beeswax butter that keeps my hands feeling conditioned while imparting a fresh scent of green floral notes that sparks momentary daydreaming. Looks good, feels good, smells good FTW.
Stick SPFs aren’t usually my thing,
but this one has me reconsidering my stance. The texture is matte but not flat and it’s one of the only stick formulas I’ve found that glides over makeup easily, leaving it (relatively) undisturbed. The little chartreuse tube is easy to spot in a cluttered bag and it’s small enough to bring along for touch-ups on-the-go. A nice little SPF discovery that will keep me protected through the lingering days of summer.
