Warm weather, is that you? Between clever complexion boosters, dreamy sun care and so much more, this month’s new arrivals made narrowing down our picks no easy task. But after plenty of testing, we’ve landed on six standout beauty products that deserve a spot on your radar this summer.
Just when I thought my blush roster was full...
Rihanna had to launch this delightful liquid blush. Not only is each colour rich and gorgeous, but the sponge tip applicator makes it so easy and fuss-free to dot on. The shade Bow’Peep, a poppy coral pink, is an instant fave, it immediately found a home in my makeup bag. The cherry on top? It’s pretty fade-proof and stays put for up to 12 hours.
Meet my secret to summer radiance.
With a mix of mandelic acid, gluconolactone, fulvic acid and PHA that hits the sweet spot between gentle exfoliation & lightweight hydration, this Made in Canada essence works overtime to smooth texture, refine pores, brighten discolouration and give my skin a quench in a juicy texture that’s a joy to use.
As we enter the thick of sunscreen season,
you can never have too many SPFs that you genuinely enjoy wearing. This Canadian pick is one of my new go-tos with its creamy, tinted formula that’s got an almost whipped, mousse-like texture. It’s hydrating, provides a touch of coverage and the zinc oxide filter provides UVA and UVB protection. Thanks to its natural finish that’s not overly matte and isn’t greasy, it wears nicely under makeup as well. Definitely a keeper.
Found: a SPF lip balm that doesn’t suck!
Punching well above its $8 price tag, this toasted coconut-y formula is a minor miracle that offers a creamy texture that’s not too sticky, slick or chalky, doesn’t dry lips out, has no icky smell (or, worse, taste) AND boasts a hefty sun protection factor that’s well beyond the derm-approved minimum. Huzzah!
This bronzer makes my skin look like I’m fresh from the French Riviera.
A lightweight gel, you can wear it multiple ways to customize your glow. I like applying a thin layer like a primer to provide just a hint of tint and a golden cast over my skin that frankly is almost impossible for me to achieve naturally. Available in two finishes (Glow and Matte), I’ve been reaching for the dewy one as it leaves this gorgeous subtle shine on the skin that really does have a certain je ne sais quoi.
I go hard for a spa vibes at home, and nothing beats this aromatic shower mist.
Created by a scent-savvy Montreal-based brand, the concoction contains just 3 ingredients to infuse steamy air with an invigorating burst of eucalyptus essential oil. Stepping into the stall moments after spritzing feels like a full body refresher that instantly soothes the senses. I’ve found it’s equally effective at lifting the fog off a groggy morning start, or helping me lean into the wind down moment of an end-of-day rinse.
