The calendar change into September always feels like a fresh start, even though our school days are well behind us. With the crisper air and slightly shorter days (nooo!) here to stay, adding in a new beauty product (or two, or three) rivals the optimistic promise of cracking open a fresh notebook. It just feels right. This month, we’re exploring an at-home peel that’s as good as a trip to your aesthetician, a snail mucin dupe that needs to be touched to be believed, the ultimate body oil to glisten from head to toe, and so much more. Follow along, class!
This Serum’s texture is wild.
It’s such a close dupe for snail mucin, but it’s powered by—you guessed it—prickly pears rather than our slimey little friends. This one feels a little more viscous-like but that gives it an even more hydrating feel. Made from 81 percent nutrient-rich pear mucin, it works to hydrate, protect and soothe. Add peptides and ectoin into the formula and it’s basically an all-in-one for plumper, stronger and more radiant skin.
Tapping into my inner aesthetician,
this at-home peel feels like a whole ritual and I always see wonderful results. Each packet contains an oversized cotton swab soaked in a generous helping of 30% glycolic acid, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. Designed as a one-step solution that brightens, smooths and hydrates in 10 mins or less, swabbing my face is fun and easy, and there’s ample liquid leftover for my neck, chest and backs of hands, too. I like to use this exfoliating treatment at night so I can wake up to a more luminous complexion. Rise and shine secured.
I’m a lip balm obsessee,
and this drugstore newbie is at the top of my pile these days. Not only is the colour selection A+++ (Caramel Glow and Rose Bite are my go-tos) but this balm is not sticky, like, in the slightest. I love that it’s in a no fuss tube (which really is the superior delivery system) and that it has just a kiss of colour that you can layer for more impact. The shades I’ve tried look gorge on their own or paired with a lip liner and the under $20 price tag? The cherry on the cake.
Nothing feels quite as luxurious
as slathering myself in this rich oil. A blend of plum seed, blue tansy, ylang-ylang, lavender, and grapefruit oils, and applied fresh out of the shower while I’m legit dripping, I take my time massaging a few pumps of this elixir head to toe. The next step is equally intentional: I air dry, allowing the emollient concoction to absorb at its leisure and leave my skin feeling ultra soft and supple. Infused with delicate golden mineral particles that give skin extra gleam, the scent makes me smell good enough to eat.
Skincare innovation? Sign me up.
This new launch from the cult fave French brand is like a facial in a tube. Melt one of these tiny little nourishing skin-boosters with your fave serum to turn up the glow on your complexion. When used for 7 days in a row (esp. when applied in combination with Guerlain’s Watery Oil Serum), fine lines and uneven texture are softened thanks to a potent dose of hyaluronic acid and vitamin C. Plus, its travel-friendly size makes this a must for dull, jet-lagged skin.
My lashes need a nudge, ok?
And this mascara knows how to stand and deliver. I adore the brush, a sculpted shape with a slight divot of shorter bristles that really help to hug along the lashline and push hairs up, up, up. Of course the vegan formula is no slouch either. Without being clumpy, heavy or - and this is key - smudgy, it adds notable length and helps my very average curly lashes achieve a fluttery extended effect that instantly opens up my eyes.
